GET SAFE SPORT TRAINED AND BACKGROUND CHECKED IN 4 EASY STEPS!

Instructions:

[1] REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER

You will need your USA Hockey confirmation number for this season. Registering as a volunteer is free and must be done first

[2] SAFESPORT

• All USA Hockey coaches, managers, and volunteers are required to be SafeSport certified by taking a SafeSport online course.
• The course IS FREE and takes about 90m to complete the first time.

• IMPORTANT: Click the forgot password link and enter your USA Hockey confirmation number if you haven't visited the site before instead of trying to log in
• Tip: the forgot password email will go to the email address you used when you got your USA Hockey confirmation number.

Once in the portal, you should be able to see the Safe Sport certification you need to take.

[3] BACKGROUND CHECK

• All USA Hockey coaches, managers, and some volunteers are required to complete a background check. The easy rule of thumb is: if the person interacts directly with the players, then they must be background checked.
• If you have already done this, see below.
• The cost of the background check is about $30 and lasts for two seasons.
